The Jasper Merchants Association provides many different events for the community of Pickens County and its surrounding cities. The city of Jasper’s Main Street is the site of many wonderful types of FREE events that the Jasper Merchants Association bring to the community.

The month of October has the Boo-Who Scarecrow Contest, where local merchants and organizations construct scarecrows to and place them along Main Street in Downtown Jasper for the entire month of October. These are voted on by the public and awards are presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in two categories.

Trick or Treat on Main Street brings out all the kids in Halloween Costumes from the hours of 5 to 7pm along Main Street as Businesses and Organizations hand out candy to thousands of children in the community.

The end of each year sees the favorite event of all, among young and old alike, The Night of Lights – Parade of Lights Christmas Event. The 1st Saturday of December brings out our Christmas Spirit as we celebrate the beginning of the Holidays with Live Entertainment, Christmas themed vendors, Pictures with Santa Claus, the lighting of the community Christmas Tree, and ending with the Lighted Christmas Parade that sends Santa Claus on his way back to the North Pole.
